Granite Shoals is a residential lake city rather than a retail one, and its own branding says as much: the City of Parks, "Your Gateway to Lake LBJ," with 19 city parks — eight of them with boat ramps — and more public waterfront access than any other community on the lake. What it does not have is a commercial core for personal services. A Hill Country tourism source puts it flatly: most shopping here is done in Marble Falls. The city counted 5,129 residents at the 2020 census and is estimated near 5,400 now, having roughly doubled every decade since the 1980s, with a median age of 46.1 and a mix the city itself describes as hardworking families, retirees, and part-time and full-time lakefront owners.

That structure shows up directly in the supply. Our search turned up exactly one bodywork practitioner based in town and no acupuncture whatsoever — for a town of this size, an acupuncture desert. Palomino is not a Granite Shoals business, and this guide does not pretend otherwise: it works from 515 Main St in downtown Marble Falls, about eight miles east on RM 1431. It ranks first here for two reasons, both of which survive being stated out loud.

The first is structural. The menu is unusually legible for this market: a 50-minute massage or private acupuncture session at $120, or $85 on a membership; 80-minute sessions at $170, or $130; a 50-minute prenatal massage at the same $120; and a 40-minute group acupuncture session, clothed and in recliners, at $50 — the lowest published acupuncture price we found anywhere near the lake.

Its framing is orthopedic rather than restful. The practice describes its work as manual medicine applied to the body’s soft tissues and joints to address the cause of pain rather than to relax, and lists positional release technique (SMRT) among its methods — language aimed squarely at a recurring shoulder, hip or low-back complaint. For a lake town whose injuries tend to arrive from boating, skiing and dock work, that is a genuinely different proposition from the spa-tier options east of town.

The caveats are practical, and worth knowing before you plan around it. Appointments are made by text message; there is no online scheduler and no published price list, so cost is a conversation.
