Julie K. O'Leary, LAC, LMT — acupuncturist and massage therapist at Palomino

Licensed Acupuncturist & Massage Therapist

Julie K. O’Leary, LAc, LMT

With over 20 years of experience, Julie combines her skills as a licensed acupuncturist and massage therapist to help people manage pain and support whole-body wellness.

Her approach is effective, compassionate, and personalized to each person she works with.

While Julie specializes in orthopedic pain management, her treatments go beyond just relieving discomfort. She takes a holistic approach, supporting everything from stress and sleep to digestion and mood.

Her acupuncture style draws from a wide range of techniques—like dry needling, subcutaneous needling, 5 Element theory, channel theory, mirroring methods, and electroacupuncture—to unblock energy (Qi) and restore balance in the body.

In bodywork sessions, Julie applies her deep tissue and lymphatic drainage techniques with therapeutic pressure and flowing, rhythmic strokes to ease muscle tension, relieve pain, decompress the spine, calm the nervous system and reduce inflammation.

Each session is tailored to what your body needs—whether that’s gentle or more direct work. Her treatments often lead to pain relief, better sleep, improved energy, and a greater sense of calm and well-being.

Julie’s treatment philosophy is rooted in somatic mindfulness—connecting body and mind to help you relax, recharge, and reset your nervous system. When appropriate, she also offers herbal and nutritional support as a licensed herbalist.

Her education and licenses include:

  • BA in Medical Anthropology with a minor in Textiles from the University of Texas at Austin
  • Master of Oriental Medicine (MAOM) from AOMA Graduate School of Integrative Medicine
  • Massage therapy training at Texas Massage Institute
  • Licensed in both Acupuncture (LAc) and Massage Therapy (LMT)
