Clear policies, honest guidance
A few simple policies keep every visit calm and fair. Below you will find our cancellation policy, guidance on health conditions to share before treatment, our accessibility commitment, and how our health information is reviewed.
Cancellation & rescheduling
Your appointment time is reserved just for you. If you need to change or cancel, we ask for at least 24 hours’ notice so the time can be offered to another client.
- 24+ hours’ notice. Reschedule or cancel at no charge — just call or text.
- Less than 24 hours. Late cancellations and no-shows may be subject to a fee, at Julie’s discretion.
- Arriving late. We will do our best to treat you fully, but sessions may be shortened to respect the next client’s time.
Life happens — if something urgent comes up, reach out and we will work with you. To change an appointment, call or text (512) 815-8522.
What to tell us before your visit
Acupuncture and massage are gentle and well tolerated by most people, and they may help with a wide range of concerns. A few conditions call for extra care, an adjusted approach, or a word with your doctor first. Please share anything relevant when you book — it helps Julie tailor a safe, comfortable session.
Pregnancy
Acupuncture and massage can be supportive during pregnancy, but certain points and positions are avoided. Please tell Julie you are pregnant, or think you may be, when you book.
Bleeding disorders & blood thinners
If you have a bleeding disorder or take anticoagulant medication, needling and deep pressure may need to be modified. Let Julie know in advance.
Recent surgery or injury
Recent surgery, fractures, or acute injuries may require clearance from your physician before hands-on work in the affected area.
Fever or acute illness
If you have a fever or a contagious illness, please reschedule so you can rest and recover — and out of care for other clients.
Blood clots (DVT) & circulatory concerns
A known or suspected blood clot is a reason to avoid massage of the area and seek medical care first. Tell Julie about any circulatory conditions.
Pacemaker & electronic implants
Electroacupuncture is not used over or near pacemakers or certain electronic implants. Julie will simply choose another technique.
Medical disclaimer. This information is educational and is not medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Massage and acupuncture are supportive therapies that may help many people, but they do not replace care from a licensed physician. Always consult your healthcare provider about your specific condition, especially if you are pregnant, managing a chronic illness, or taking medication.
Our accessibility commitment
We want everyone in the Highland Lakes to be able to use this website and enjoy our care. We build and maintain this site to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA, and we treat accessibility as ongoing work rather than a one-time checkbox.
- Semantic HTML, keyboard-navigable controls, visible focus, and sufficient color contrast throughout.
- Descriptive alternative text on imagery and clear, readable typography.
- No accessibility-overlay widget. Overlays can interfere with the assistive technology you already use, so we do not install one — we build accessibility into the site itself.
If you encounter a barrier or need information in another format, please call or text (512) 815-8522 and we will help promptly and find a way to meet your need.
How our health content is reviewed
Health information on this site is written and reviewed by Julie K. O’Leary, L.Ac., LMT, a licensed acupuncturist and massage therapist with more than 20 years of clinical experience. We describe what these therapies may support, drawing on established clinical understanding, and we avoid promises of cure or guaranteed outcomes.
Content is reviewed periodically for accuracy and clarity. It is intended to inform, not to diagnose or treat — your physician remains your primary source for medical decisions.
Questions before you book?
Call or text and Julie will talk you through anything — from timing and policies to whether a treatment is right for you.
