Prenatal Massage in Marble Falls, TX

Prenatal massage is a modified — not weakened — massage designed around the changing body of pregnancy, most often delivered in a supported side-lying position. Endorsed by ACOG as a safe way to relax and improve circulation after the first trimester, it may help ease back, hip, and leg strain, reduce swelling, and lower stress for many expecting mothers. Julie adapts pressure, position, and technique to your trimester and any guidance from your care provider.

03 — What to Expect

Your visit, step by step

01

Before

Julie confirms how far along you are, any complications, and guidance from your OB or midwife. She positions you in supported side-lying with bolsters under the head, between the knees, and beneath the belly.

02

During

Work stays light-to-medium and avoids deep leg pressure and the abdomen, focusing on the low back, hips, shoulders, and neck where pregnancy loads the body most. She checks in at every position change.

03

After

Most people feel lighter and more comfortable. Rise slowly, hydrate, and let Julie know how you feel over the next day so the next session can be adjusted.

Prenatal Massage questions

01Is prenatal massage safe?

For most healthy pregnancies after the first trimester, yes — ACOG describes massage as a good way to relax and improve circulation, with side-lying as the preferred position. It is a supportive therapy, not medical care; some conditions require your provider’s clearance first.

02When can I start, and how is it positioned?

Many practices begin in the second trimester and work in a supported side-lying position rather than flat on your back or face-down, which protects circulation and the uterine ligaments as your belly grows. Some offer gentle first-trimester work; discuss timing with Julie and your provider.

03When should I avoid massage or get clearance first?

Check with your OB or midwife first if you have preeclampsia, high blood pressure, a preterm-labor risk, blood clots or a clotting disorder, placenta previa, or gestational diabetes. Julie screens at intake and will modify or refer when needed.

04What might prenatal massage help with?

Many expecting mothers find it may help ease back and leg pain, reduce swelling, and lower anxiety and stress; some research also links it to improved mood and sleep. Results vary, and it complements rather than replaces your maternity care.

This page is educational and is not a substitute for medical diagnosis or treatment. Acupuncture, massage, and related bodywork are supportive, personalized therapies — results vary from person to person. Please tell Julie about any health conditions, medications, or pregnancy before your visit.
